

William “Bill” was born in Winston-Salem, NC, January 1935. He attended Duke University on a NROTC scholarship. He pursued a technical curriculum and was elected into Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi; engineering honoraries. Upon graduation, with a BSME he was selected to receive the honorary Phi Beta Kappa for scholastic excellence, he was commissioned into the US Navy where he was assigned to the Naval Academy, Annapolis, in charge of the facilities and utilities. After completing his tour of duty he returned to NC and received a MBA at UNC Chapel Hill. He worked at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station for 34 years; first with Pan American World Airways and then with Lockheed Martin/General Dynamics.
He is predeceased by his parents: William H. and Hughey Hull-Boyer.
He is survived by his loving wife Gail; sons, Steg Boyer and Gibson Boyer & his wife, Nancye Boyer; daughter, Heather Boyer-Harvell & her husband Ricky Harvell; step-son, Gregory Gough; granddaughter, Natasha Gough; grandsons, Brandon Gough, Noah Harvell, Luke Harvell and Jimmy Boyer.
He will be interned in Winston-Salem, NC. Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
