Bill was born on February 25, 1948, in Albemarle, North Carolina, to the late Dr. Dennis Bryan Fox and Dora Helen Jones Fox. He graduated from Elkin High School and later moved to Salisbury, the city he would call home for many years. There, he met and married his wife, Julie Sipes Fox. In 2012, Bill and Julie relocated to Clemmons to be closer to their daughter, Tonya.
While living in Salisbury, Bill enjoyed a weekly routine filled with activities he loved. On Thursdays, he participated in the Kings and Queens Bowling League, and on Saturdays, he played tennis at the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Center. Although he had a deep love for both bowling and tennis, his greatest passion was trains. Whether visiting railways or building his own N-scale model railroad, Bill found joy in every aspect of the hobby.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Julie Fox; his daughter, Tonya (Daniel) Butner; and his granddaughter, Sloane Butner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis “Bryan” (Jeannie) Fox, Jr.
A private committal service will be held at Rowan Memorial Gardens.
