Alma G. Perla, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Born to Morris and Ethel Goodman on December 22, 1928, Alma lived a life rich with love, purpose, and devotion.
A graduate of Flora Stone Mather College, Alma was a lifelong learner and a woman of many talents. She served as the former Sisterhood President of B’nai Jeshurun Congregation and was an accomplished pianist. She was the heart and soul of her family—a matriarch whose love and wisdom bound generations together. Alma was a shining example of grace, warmth, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Her bond with her beloved husband; Herbert H. Perla, was one of soulmates—unbreakable and eternal.
She is survived by her devoted children: Bernard D. Perla, MD & Heidi S. Perla and Beth-Ann Milstein & Gary D. Milstein. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren; Elizabeth Lupton, Shaw Lupton, Isabelle Perla, and Gabriel Perla.
Alma is reunited in memory with her beloved husband, Herbert; her dear parents, Morris and Ethel Goodman; and her siblings, Harvey Goodman and Esther Goodman. There will be no visitation.
