When my client was late paying an installment on the settlement, I drove the payment to his office to show good faith. Alvin was gracious in receiving me, striking up a nice chat.  He was gracious in court even under some pressure from the judge, which I deflected from him.  I admired how he practiced at such a high age, in a distinguished manner.  The mezuzah on the office door reassured me.  He related how as a school job,  he would collect overdue library books from patrons, going to their house or apartment, which was his first 
work in collections. R.I.P. 

Thank you to everyone for writing a lovely memory to me about my beloved Alvin. As these 3 weeks have passed since my loss of Alvin, I am missing him beyond anything I have ever felt.  He will always be in my heart as my life moves along day by day during this grieving time. Alvin is at peace now and I will have to find peace in my own life. With love  Shelley

I had the pleasure of meeting Al when he joined Gardner Spilka  & Weltman in the late 60s where I was a law clerk.  Al was always a gentleman and a truly nice person.   While at a CLLA convention, I remember him showing his moves on the dance floor during the disco craze.   I was saddened to hear of his passing.  He was a wonderful man.  My sympathies to Shelley and his entire family.

My memories of my brother, Al, are mostly from our younger years. We shared a room, growing up, where we listened to baseball games, and went to see the Cleveland Indians play at the stadium. On Saturdays we walked to Shaker Theatre to see movies.  When I went to Western Reserve University, he drove Joyce and I to class every morning; he was going to law school, then.  All my life, Al was there; he will be missed.

My deepest condolences to you and your family.  I always enjoyed seeing Alvin at our meetings and he will be deeply missed.   Holding you close in my thoughts.

Dear Shelley, so many years and so many memories. We always had lunch together whenever the two of you came to visit, and after lunch Alvin was so sweet about us going shopping while he sat patiently reading a book till we were done. He was so kind and good hearted. Allan and I both will miss him.

Dearest Alvin: I know how much you loved to come over for dinner and watch TV with us. I also loved hearing Shelley Will you make that for me. You and Marv love to sit and talk about law as well as watching shows like two and a half men and my cousin Vinny together. You were so special. So kind so sweet. A sad loss but he left us with so many memories of good times together with Shelly. Dinners, visiting in Florida and our trip to Italy.
Alvin will be missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
