Diane Harriet Weiss

It is with deep sorrow we have learned of the death of our member, Diane Weiss (nee Frankel), age 84, beloved wife of 62 years of our member, Benjamin Weiss, devoted mother of Madison Mikel Weiss (Lisa Schimmel), our member, Rabbi Stephen (Naomi) Weiss and David (Barbara) Weiss, dear grandmother of Rivka (Aron) Cohen, Menachem, Yael, Mara and Sam Weiss. Daughter of Jay Bernard & Dorothy Frankel (both deceased) and sister of Gerald Frankel (deceased).

Diane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to teaching and education and was active in the teacher's union to fight for quality education and rights of teachers. She also was devoted to synagogue and was an active leader in the Jewish community. She held leadership positions in her synagogues and was co-founder of Hazak and president of Hadassah in Henderson, NV.

The funeral will be held Sunday, March 3 at 10 am at B'nai Jeshurun Congregation, 27501 Fairmount Blvd., Pepper Pike with interment at Bet Olam Cemetery. The week of shiva will be held at the home of Naomi & Rabbi Stephen Weiss, 2808 Brainard Rd., Pepper Pike Sunday following services until 4 pm and from 7-9 pm; Monday-Thursday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 pm with minyan daily at 8:30 am and 7:30 pm.
