

Helen Levine Jacobson, 95, of Bratenahl, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2014. Born June 17, 1919 in Jamestown, New York, she grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Glenville High School and Fenn College. She moved with her late husband Irving D. (Buddy) Jacobson to Painesville, Ohio where they raised two daughters and where she was involved in many community activities. They later relocated to Bratenahl where she continued to live for over 40 years. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a gracious host, celebrating many occasions at her home with family and friends. She traveled the world, setting foot on every continent and shared her love of travel by organizing an annual family trip with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed boating, fishing, flying and gliding and spent much time with Buddy in South Florida. Her volunteer work included the PTA, the Children’s Museum of Cleveland and area hospice. She was on the Bratenahl Recreation Commission. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy D. Jacobson and Amy L. Harris (Michael); grandsons, Rob Kates, Andrew Harris (Rebecca) and Jeffrey Harris (Sarah) and their two children, Samantha and Riley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to express deep appreciation to her caregivers, Dixie Johnson and Joyce Favors, as well as the wonderful people at hospice. Family services and burial were held at Lake View Cemetery.
