Hi, my name is Lori. I’m a cousin of Joyce Golub. I also, grew up on Bayard rd. and continue to live there.  I want to send my heartfelt condolences to Helen’s family.  Growing up and as an adult, I have always enjoyed talking to Helen when she went  on her daily walks. I still consider the green house on Bayard Rd to be hers and think about her and her friendly smile often. ☮️✡️

With the passing of your mom, lots of memories of Bayard Road and my childhood come forward.  I will never forget your mother driving home and honking her horn as she neared the house. The horn became muffled over the years. Now it is silenced.

Rachel, Bill and I were very sad to hear of Helen‘s passing. We have very fond memories of her and Ken. They were much more than next-door neighbors for thirty years. They treated us like family. We always knew when spring was around the corner, because Ken would sit out front in his chair. And Helen was definitely one of a kind, in the best way possible. They have been truly missed by us since the day they moved.

Helen and Kenny were our dear neighbors from 1975 through 2017 when my wife, Marla and I moved to Atlanta. We could not have asked for better neighbors. Marla passed last year. Helen was a walker, and most days, she would check on Marla, as I would check on Kenny.  He had stopped sitting out in his chair in front of the house the last few years we lived there. I cherished those daily hellos, and the sound of her unique voice calling out my name.
