I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow. Joan always inspired me in my daily life and I have thought of her often. (I am a former Westwood teacher assistant.)

Carl, sincere condolences to you and your family.  May Joanie's memory be a blessing to you.

Joanie will be in my heart forever.  I cherish the memories we shared as sorority sisters at Allderdice High, and freshman roommates at Penn State.  No matter the obstacle, Joanie met it with grace,  courage and a positive attitude.  I have learned a great deal from her, and she is a hero to me.  I extend my sincere sympathy to her loving family.

Losing someone like Joanie is a real heartbreaker! She kept a smile on her face whatever the circumstances, and that made all around her smile.
