Devoted grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 8. Dear sister of the late Dr. Edwin (Bubbles-deceased) Whitman, Dr. Marvin (Nancy) Whitman and Jane Whitman. Cherished aunt and great aunt. Joy served as a trustee of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Board member of the Palm Beach Opera, the Cleveland Orchestra's Women's Committee and served in leadership role's with Cleveland's United Way and the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland. Joy, along with her husband were recipient's of the Scopus Award from the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
