Just want to add a point that struck me as a relative newcomer to NEO:
Les loved Cleveland and advocated to keep our teams here. He was fearful of Big  Bucks specifically buying out our Indians now Guardians and moving them elsewhere-
even if we didn’t have the deepest pockets.
With that said I see today that the team is in first place Central Division AL, still has Francona managing, and Jose playing. Les would be happy to see that!
Happy we finally get a public opportunity to
salute Les at Beachwood HS. Great job!

To the entire Levine family,
Les will always be a treasure in Cleveland this is without question.
Personally back in the 1990''s I would be a regular call in to all the shows on WHK. But Les then was always my favorite because of his wit, style and manner.
In the great CSU days in 1986 listening to Les was always a must.
And then there was Les' favorite sport, baseball. While working ushering at the ballpark earlier this decade I can't tell you how many times we would run into each other when he was heading to the press box, and he would spend the next inning or so talking about anything and everything, and knowing that I worked over at the casino would ask how that was going. 
There was that also, his love of the occasional visit to the blackjack tables where his friendly outgoing manner never wavered and he always made sure I knew how friendly my coworkers were in dealing to him.
You will always be remembered Lester Levine, today and for ever.

Les has been a special part of my life. I was more than just a radio and tv "stalker" to him. Les told me that I was "gullible" in 1995, and we have had a special relationship ever since.

Les welcomed me into his circle. He always treated me with kindness, respect, and generosity. He never "big-leagued" me. Les was a model of class and professionalism. Les was as great a human being as he was a broadcast legend.

Of all the tributes I have ever written, THIS was the most recent.

I've known Les a very long time.  1962.  Brush High School.  I worked for him for a year selling his air time.  He was the best at selling himself.  The clients always wanted THE FRANCHISE and that was charming Les ... with perfect comedic timing .  What a great guy.  Knew him well from his days on the Brush High School baseball team.  I was in media my entire life and knew him well through the media circle.  Everyone loved and respected Les.  he graduated a year ahead of us--but we always considered him a part of our Class ... and very happy to adopt him :)...Great mind, smile...he exuded kindness. Thank you for sharing your husband, father and grandfather with all of us his listeners and his fans . Cleveland is truly LES today. His radio and tv shows left















 us with  lasting memories. His professionalism was great. He made us feel that we were important to the Cleveland sports scene. Words cannot describe how we feel about you and our loss!

Alison, Billy, Stu, Jeremy and Jamie-  I will always cherish the time spent with Les. The softball games, the basketball games, Jeremy and Ricky’s little league games, Wednesday night poker, and the occasional ride together to Kent when there was a blizzard. Thanks for the memories. Joanne and I have been friends with Les for decades!!  Our great memories of our experiences with him will be there for us forever.  Les was an extra special friend to me in countless ways---from softball to many Nevele trips together, to  just simple sports chat and  to every aspect to which a friendship can exist. 

We know that the memories that all of you hold from and with Les will help sustain you during this difficult time and forever.  His wit, humor, sports knowledge are but a few of the great qualities that Les possessed.

He will be sorely missed by multitudes---but never forgotten!!

Unfortunately I can't say Les and I were good friends but our lives crossed paths many years ago and he left fond memories with me from when I was fairly young. More recently, we had run into each other at various events or get togethers and I was happy to know he remembered me and he was always friendly and warm. His smile was very endearing. I am fortunate to have been able to have known him. I felt his Father was a real gentleman, a mench, and the apple did not fall far from the tree. My condolences to Billy, Stu and the rest of the family. Hopefully the good memories will live on for many years to come.

Les worked with us to make the Fuchs Mizrachi School’s Men’s Night and Reverse Raffle a major success for many years. It was a major fundraiser on the school’s calendar. He was always a fun and entertaining MC. 

I will miss him. Good friend, fraternity brother. His wit was special. Rest In Peace.

I never met Les..but I followed him all over the dial.

His wit and wisdom.. was incredible. He made me smile all the time !

In the 1980's the JCC was going to participate in the Maccabi  Games for the first time in Toronto Canada. Les was asked to be head coach for girl's softball.  I was coaching girl's softball in Beachwood and he asked me to be his assistant. He was the expert!
I was the novice. Surprise surprise his job requirements, at the time,
would not allow him  to be the head coach and go to Toronto. He asked me to do this by myself. It was a wonderful and scary  experience and I coached for many more years for the JCC. I have attended all of his sports events at Temple Emanuel, including the one he stepped in at the last "second". To his wife, children, and rest of family he will be  missed.
