Marcia Lois Bartko (Levine), 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Highland Heights, Ohio. She was a devoted wife, a cherished mother, an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, a loving daughter and sister, and an amazing friend to many.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 25, 1939, Marcia was the beloved daughter of Phillip and Esther (Fishman) Levine. She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1957 and continued her education at Fenn College (now Cleveland State University), graduating in 1959.
Marcia’s life was defined by love and family. She first married Mort Weisberg (since passed) and they welcomed three children together. After their split, Marcia found her lifelong companion, Thomas “Tom” Bartko. For over 40 years, Tom was by her side through life's unimaginable challenges and its most spectacular moments. Together, they built a wonderful life in Eastlake, OH, sharing a passion for boating and frequenting their favorite summer destinations, Kelleys Island and Put-in-Bay. Marcia loved spending warm days suntanning and reading a good book on the water. As they grew older, they moved to Highland Heights to be closer to their family.
Throughout her career, Marcia was a dedicated employee at both University Hospital and Saber Healthcare Group. She was adored by her coworkers and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was known for her kindness and her work desk, which was always stocked with a wide variety of candy. Her grandchildren knew exactly where to go for a sweet treat whenever they came to visit her at work.
Marcia was an anchor, ready to hold and hug you if you were having a bad day or provide a little laugh when you needed it most. Her infectious warmth, signature scent (Estée Lauder's "Beautiful"), and perfectly painted nails (usually pink) were essential parts of her charm.
Any gathering Marcia attended was made better by her famous appetizers, including her Shake ‘n Bake chicken wings and deviled eggs. She had an undeniable sweet tooth and could be easily won over with anything chocolate. She also enjoyed a good scotch and water, and the mention of the drink made her smile during her final days.
Marcia leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 40 years, Thomas Bartko.
She was the loving mother of three children from her first marriage:
• Lisa Petrelli (Husband Tony)
• William “Bill” Weisberg (Wife Georgia)
• The late David Weisberg
She was a proud grandmother to:
• Kyle Wierzba (Holly) and Shawn McGrievy, children of Lisa (Weisberg) Petrelli
• Brandon Weisberg, Andrew Weisberg, and Julia Weisberg, children of William and Georgia Weisberg
• Paige Weisberg, daughter of David Weisberg
She was also a great-grandmother to:
• Peyton Wierzba, daughter of Kyle and Holly.
Marcia is preceded in death by her son, David Weisberg; her first husband, Mort Weisberg; her mother, Esther; father, Phillip; and sister, Sandra,
A private family-only service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made in Marcia’s name to the Cleveland Public Library, or the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. Alternatively, those who knew and loved Marcia are invited to raise a glass of scotch and water tonight in her memory.
Arrangements have been under the supervision of Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel.
