To Marty's family - 

I just learned of Marty's passing on Easter.

I was fortunate enough to know Marty for a number of years as a fellow trumpeter. 

Just sitting next to him while playing always put a smile on my face. What a great guy. I will really miss him, as I'm sure all of us will.

May he have eternal peace in heaven.

Goldberg family, So sorry I was out of town. Your parents treated me like one of there own. Guys at the police department still talk about corn beef your dad brought to akron when my dad passed. Will always cherish our sundays together in akron and Cleveland. I am sure our parents are all together wondering if we have enough to eat.

We will miss the visits that Marty and his instruments made at Academy, we will miss him and the humour

To the Family of Marty Goldberg. My wife and I attended Marty's Memorial Service yesterday. It was a beautiful Service for a beautiful man. We were quite moved by the love and admiration that was shared. You as Marty's family meant more to him then anything else in this world.  He was very proud of each of you. And knew that his children would make their contributions to make our world a better place. His work here was done and it was time for him to rest. 
Rest in peace my friend.

So sad to hear about Marty.   He did business with my father and I back in the furniture days at Morse Electrophonic.  Marty & I would get into lengthy conversations 
 about the old days and the music business every summer at the Woodhawk pool where we were both residents.  Rest in Peace fellow musician.

I remember him well and shared a few of the moments expressed by Geoff Glazer along with a few late weekend nights watching some less than good rock band on tv along with your Dad's comments. Dear Jeff,Audrey and Missy,

What can I say other than my heart goes out to you and your family. If I could be there tomorrow I would, but know that I will be there in spirit. I always loved Marty. He was such a wonderful person and certainly one of a kind. The memories of watching Browns games in the living room with Marty ( usually in his underwear ), Shirley and Jeff will forever be etched in my memory and is priceless. The yelling, the shouting,hysterical laughing, the eating, it brings a smile to my face !! We had so many good times !! Looking back I have such fond memories of Marty being so kind, funny and always got a kick out of him playing the trumpet. I know that his grandchildren and their children will hear many Marty stories and his blessed memory will live on forever.

To the Goldberg children: Teddie and I are so sorry to hear of Marty's passing. He was a good friend and client for 37 years. We loved both your mom and your dad. We will miss him terribly. We are especially sad that we are out of the country, unable to return in time for the service. Please know we will be thinking of you tomorrow.

I have had the pleasure of sitting next to Marty for rehearsals and performances for over 25 years. I will miss his humor and musicianship.

Marty and I developed a great relationship when he came to Mayfield Middle School to help my students get better on their instruments. We shared a love for jazz and he told me stories that made me laugh out loud. He was a bright spot to my days. Loved him and will miss him. He is and always will be an Honorary Member of The Pride of Mayfield Music Program.  RIP My Friend

I played in the Straight-Six Dixieland Band with Marty for several years. It was a pleasure knowing and working with him. My most sincere sympathy to his family.

As a member of the Prime Time Big Band for 35 years I have had the opportunity to know Marty personally and musically for a long time. I offer my condolences to all of his family and friends. I will always remember him as a caring person with a big heart and his amazing Trumpet solos. He will be greatly missed.

I played in a big band with Marty. He played the trumpet with a sweetness that can't be taught, a sweetness that can only come from the soul. When someone in the band takes a solo I can't look away from my music, but I always knew when it was Marty within the first four or five notes.

I'll miss the his beautiful spirit in the music.
