

Selma Arleen Baron, age 97, of Cleveland, died peacefully after a long illness on Nov. 28, 2023. Beloved wife of Stanley “Sandy” Baron, deceased, for 64 years, and loving mother of Sandra (Greg Diskant) Baron and Michael (Beth Segal) Baron. Cherished grandmother of Ted (Conor) Diskant, Ben (Justin Scribner) Diskant, Emily (Jacob Hadad) Baron, and Matthew Baron, and great-grandmother of Charlotte, Beau, and Natalie. Dear sister of Harriet Banks, deceased.
In a life full of accomplishments, she was most proud of being a trailblazer for women seeking professional careers, and in that, she excelled. She was the first woman in Cleveland to independently own a major advertising firm, and served on numerous boards throughout the community during her 42 years as agency president and well into retirement.
Services will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz, 1985 South Taylor Rd. Cleveland Heights, on Sunday, Dec. 3rd, at 1:00 p.m., interment following at the graveside, Lakeview Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 25477 Bryden Rd, Beachwood, until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, Dec. 4th, from 6-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Benjamin Rose Institute On Aging, 11890 Fairhill Road, Cleveland, OH 44120 and Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland, 29125 Chagrin Blvd., Pepper Pike, OH 44122. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
