

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sinora Jhirad on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was 86 years old. She was born in Pune, India and was a Bene Israel. She was a devoted mother and wife who will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, quiet strength and humor.
She was a legendary supporter of Cleveland sports, along with an amazing game-show acumen for Family Feud and Bingo and loved needle pointing items for others. Sinora had her bat mitzvah at the age of 71 and was very proud of this accomplishment. She was quite the foodie and in her younger days enjoyed making tasty meals for her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Moses (Susan) Jhirad, Mozelle (Mike) Jackson, and Eric (Melissa) Jhirad; grandchildren, Kaela, Jared, Alyssa and Emersyn; siblings, Reuben Benjamin (Esther) and Sheela Divekar (Moses).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben, and brother, Mordechai Benjamin (Esther).
Private graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 13th at Lake View Cemetery (12316 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland). Shiva will follow immediately afterward at the home of Mozelle and Michael Jackson – 3700 Chagrin River Road, Moreland Hills, OH on Tuesday from 4:30pm until 7:30pm and Wednesday from 1pm until 4pm and 6pm until 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland (www.jfsa.org).
Arrangements were made under the supervision of Berkowitz Kumin Bookatz Memorial Chapel.
