Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cummingsanddavisfh.com for the Thomas family.
David Lawrence Thomas was born on February 27, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio
to parents, Ruthie Mae and Charles Thomas (both deceased). David was
the second oldest of six siblings and his nickname was “Danny,” but because
of his remarkably close relationship with his only uncle, “Bennymack,” he
inherited a sense of humor and the infamous name, “Dannymack.”
David attended Cleveland Public schools, and growing up, he enjoyed
playing with his siblings, cracking jokes, and spending time with his family
and best friend Roosevelt. David’s favorite pastimes included driving, and
working on cars, watching any kind of television program, playing the card
game “Casino,” playing musical instruments and listening to all genres of
music. One of his favorite songs was “Flashlight” by the Parliament; he
would be quick to get up and show off his “Coolness” in the most hilarious
way.
“Dannymack” also went to the street school of “Hard Knocks,” where he
earned an exceedingly popular reputation of talking slang, dressing fly,
styling the latest kicks, hustling and being the “Coolest” on the stomping
grounds of East Cleveland, Ohio. Danny will be most remembered for
being one of the funniest and realest people that anyone could encounter,
but to us he was the “Family Funny Man.” Although he deflected from his
own personal struggles, when he was around his family, we could always
count on him to brighten our day with his silly antics, roasting skills, and
famous catch phrases. Some of most notable ones were “I’m a chicken, you
a duck, we the same, so what the f--”, and “Use your head for more than a hat
rack”, or “The only time you should look down, is when you take a sh—" and
most recent, “What a Day”.
Unfortunately, after experiencing a traumatic brain injury in the summer of
2021, his health began to decline, he was temporarily residing at Cityview
Nursing Rehab and on January 20, 2022, @ 9: 32p.m, he began his eternal
resting. Danny loved his only son, David Jr. aka “Lil Dave” (preceeded in
death), baby sister, Yolanda Crawford (proceeded in death) and younger
brother Robert Jones who passed away on January 22, 2022.
David Lawrence Thomas leaves to cherish his memories; eldest brother,
Freddie E. Thomas Sr., (Plooki), sister-in-law (Angie), sisters, Janice
Collins, Ruth “Peanut” Jones, Tanja “Butterball; Wilhoite and Nikki; step
children, Tenisha and Armone and three grandchildren Tahjai, Aliyah and

nephews and nieces, Freddie Jr. (Jay-R), Demetria (Faye), Tywane, Benny
