She was born in Selbyville, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Valentine Cooper and Joy (nee McDaniels) Hinkle. Elizabeth was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late Leonard O. Gillum ; loving mother of Stephanie (Carl) Baron, Sharlene Gillum, L. Steven (Tammy) Gillum and Larry Shawn (Nichole) Gillum; cherished grandmother of Carl Baron, Tori Gillum, Derek Baron and Jaylin Gillum; dear sister of the late Linden (Helen, surviving) Hinkle; adored aunt of many.
She had a deep love for flowers and took great joy in tending to her beautiful floral garden. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, and she cherished her beloved pets, especially her chihuahuas, Tiny and Tee-Tee. With a gentle heart, she also cared for the neighborhood cats, becoming a loving caretaker to them all.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 4PM-8PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 14768 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11AM. Interment services will follow at 1:45PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Ohio. Please meet at the cemetery.
