Habeeba Barnes

Habeeba Barnes was born April 30. 1921 in Alligator,Mississippi, to Eddie and Barbara Green. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois then to Cleveland when she was a little girl. She attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated with Honors.

Habeeba worked and retired from the city of Cleveland Police Department in the Telephone Exchange

Department. Her family was everything to her. Playing cards and going to the racetrack and casino was a joy to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eddie Green and Hameeda Kalan, her only brother Mosses

Green, two sisters, Jaleela Smedley and Jamella Ghafoor, two sons Robert James Barnes, Jr. and Douglas Barnes.

She leaves to mourn her memory two sons Khalid Bari and Fred Whitley (Mary) her only daughter

Cheryl Barnes, 11 Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.

A visitation for Habeeba will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A wake will occur Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:30 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. An interment will occur Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 5505 Northfield Road, Bedford Heights, Ohio.
