Ida is may aunt and one of my best friends.  She was my maid of honor at my wedding and partner in crime. 

 I will miss you and will always love you, my dear Aunt and friend.

I went to Wilbur Wright Jr High with Ida. I remember her as a sweet gal. Rest in peace. 

I went to school with Ida since the 4th grade.  My favorite memory is that we had a class Christmas gift exchange at Almira grade school.  1 dollar limit.  I bought her a Barbie doll.  She thought was soooo cool.  Loved seeing her at the WTH reunions.  Gonna be an empty seat at our 50th this year.  God speed Ida.

Ida and her husband bought their house a few months before I did. They are on W. 137 and I was on W. 138. We would always wave to each other when I walked my dogs when she'd be out on the front porch. She expressed her condolences when one of my dogs would pass away. She would know as I was walking a new dog. Rest in Heaven, Ida.

My husband and I went to high school with Ida.  I had classes with her.  She was always smiling, laughing and fun to be around. Ida was a blessing to everyone at West Tech.  I looked forward to seeing her at every reunion.  I don't think she ever missed one. She was always smiling, never pretentious, and so sweet!  Everyone at WTH loved her!  When we were pulling into the funeral home on Saturday we got a call from our 1971 WTH class president, Larry Orenich.  He said he always loved talking to Ida, she was special. He asked that we get a remembrance card for him.  We loved the beautiful pictures you had of Ida.  It was a blessing to see her life unfold before us.  Her wedding album is precious and something I know you cherish.  May your memories of sweet beautiful Ida be a blessing and comfort to you.  We will remember her at our 50 year WTH reunion.

Ida was loving, caring and full of uplifting  smiles and laughter .   


My memories of Jewel are from old to new. Thinking of all the good times at our family reunion over the years.  Sitting here writing this 
to say goodbye is very hard for me.  I will miss her lasagna and wonderful smile.

I can't help but smile about Ida.  She was the friendliest, sincere, person I knew.  Never had a bad thing to say about anyone and always was smiling and laughing.

Ida was my aunt, but she was more like a big sister to me. My whole life she was there for me. Every time I had an important event, she was there even if nobody else was. The most wonderful person ever to grace us with her presence. I cannot count the good times that we shared. A more loving, giving, supportive, 
 caring and fun person you could never find. The heavens will surely shine a little bit brighter for her being there. God, love and keep the Spellmans and their extended families. I love you all sooo much.

There are not enough words to express how much I'm going to miss this amazing woman. From the first time I was abandoned and trapped at her kitchen table to solving the problems of the world at the same kitchen table...while Paul and Rob were doing God knows what...she made me feel like I belonged in this family, and sometimes it's still so weird. I have too many memories to pick just one. I love you to the moon and back Ida Jewell...til we meet again...keep Tom in check until I get there  XOXO

aunt ida was the best aunt to have. I am so honored to have had her in my life. She was the best story teller, she had a way of comforting people so easily. She gave the BEST advice. When I had a semi-major surgery she came over and made me my favorite soup made. She was there the entire time I was in labor with my son, showed up with scones and coffee, had stories to tell to distract me, stood by my mom and I through the whole process. 
She was so incredibly strong and her faith in god was unbelievable. A beautiful soul inside and out. She was very giving. Ida was one of a kind. Her reunion with uncle bob, uncle tommy, nan and pap was probably amazing. ❤️

Franny and Paula,
I am so sorry that your mom is gone as she was one of the brightest rays of light that I ever met. The kindness that both she and your Uncle Tom showed me has never been forgotten and I hope they are together laughing now. My favorite memory of her may have been the morning of Paula's wedding as the blizzard was all around us and her just making the best of it and wanting her makeup to be the most important thing while using that infectious laugh. She is a gem and both of you will help her live on as you both are so kind. Much love to you, Wendy

Ida, was without a doubt one of the most impactful people I have ever met. I am so lucky that my brother married Franny, because if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have learned the things I've learned from Ida and I wouldn't have met the most genuine and kind hearted person that she was. She accepted me as if I were her own. She was the best nail painter, story teller and Grammy. Because of her, I will proudly walk around with my pants tucked into my socks. no matter how silly I look. She had the best laugh and energy. I will miss you so much Ida, and will always make sure that Iris will know how much you loved her.  

There are no words to say how much my sister Ida (Jewellie to me) means to me. She was the most kind and generous person you would ever know.  I never heard anyone say anything negative or bad about Ida.  Her husband Paul and her were joined at the heart. And her girls were the apple of her eye. Her family, all of her brothers and sisters were so special to her.   We went on a vacation with Paul and Ida a couple years ago.  We had more fun with them, than if legally allowed. I am going to miss her so much. We texted and called each other all the time. I don’t know how I am going get along without her coming into Faynie’s house when I come up home .  But Ida , you will always be my little sister, my look a like , and I love you so much, and you took a part of my heart with you to Heaven. You touched every person with your sweet heart and were an inspiration to everyone you ever met. You never met a stranger, just friends you hadn’t made yet.  So go rest high with Jesus.  I will see you again.  Meanwhile tell Bob hello.  All my love. Joanie 

Whether it was two  days, two weeks or two years, we picked up where we left off!  Raising a glass to my friend who never met a stranger and who loved me like I was family!

I used to spend weekends with grandma, and Ida when grandma was sick and she wanted to go out.  She taught me so much about the importance of family, and how to have fun.  We used to play all her old 45's and dance, grandma would just shake her head and laugh.  So many good memories.  I know its hard to loose your mama, when you feel like you're not done with her yet. But, she is always with you, and in you, in everything you do!  Much love,  Della
