Jean Herman

JEAN "Jennie" HERMAN (nee Polesky), age 96, entered into rest on January 19, 2016. Well known and well thought of in her community, Jean was born and raised in Tremont, but spent most of her life raising her family and living in the Gordon Square area. She was the daughter of Michael and Anna Polesky (both deceased). Beloved wife of the late Fred, loving mother of Shirley Cruz (deceased) (Onil), Mary Jean Banas (David), Violet Glover (Alfred, deceased), Patricia Cook (Gene, both deceased), Barbara (Joi Matlak), Fred (Belinda), Francis (Brenna), Faith Studeny (Ronald), Michael (Donna) and Sandra Gray (Robert). Dear grandmother of 24, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother of many. Preceded in death by her sisters Mary Moran, Helen Spiewak/Mendoza, Anna Styranka and Pauline Niedzwiedz. Aunt and friend to many. Children were her joy. She cherished cradling and caring for three generations singing "hatzuh mama's baby" and always welcoming family and neighborhood friends. We will miss her beautiful smile, hearty laugh and delicious stuffed cabbages. Visitation 4:00 - 8:00 P.M Friday at CRACIUN BERRY FUNERAL HOME, 7200 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.
