Mary Scott was born on a beautiful day in Greenwood, Mississippi August 21, 1938 to Virgil and Minnie Liddell. Her family moved to Cleveland Ohio in 1940. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Cleveland, Ohio. After high school, she married William Tell Scott in December of 1954. She lived a simple, but happy life before she was called home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Mary leaves behind her children; William Scott (Denise), Darrin Scott (Ivy), Sharon Scott, Oscar Scott, Phyllis Nolan (Dwight/deceased) and Denise Levitt (James).
Mary was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Scott, her father, Virgil Liddell, her sisters Elizabeth Liddell, Rose Sanders and brothers John Liddell, Clement Liddell, David Liddell and Reese Liddell.
Mary was known as May Lee to family and friends, a name that she acquired in her early childhood. She was primarily a homemaker and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving family woman, a two time home owner who made a way for her family the best way she knew how. She enjoyed traveling in order to see different places, visit family, and enjoy life. One could always find a smile on her face as they pulled up in her yard. She would be sitting there enjoying the scenery while sipping on her wine. She was very strict, but for good reason due to her wanting to see her whole family succeed in life. Cooking, solving word search puzzles, figuring out the "number", a good read, and conversation were some of the many things that she enjoyed. Long known for her positive outlook on life and sense of humor.
Mary is also survived by her mother Minnie Liddell and two sisters Elsie Gardner (Ross, deceased) Barbara Liddell and two brothers William Liddell and Booker Liddell. She had 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
