Patricia Anne (Fensom) Paras born in Chiswick, England,to parents Horace and Mary Elizabeth, passed away peacefully August 31, 2024, after 97 inspiring years. After being raised by her dear Aunt Bella, and living in London during WWII, Pat arrived in the US on the Queen Mary as an English war bride to George Paras (deceased). She became the beloved mother of Georganne (Roy) Radigan, Patty (John) Musolf, Mark Paras, Maryclaire (Al) Yagovane (late husband, Michael Gang Sr.). Pat was very cherished by her grandchildren Julie (Phil) Morron, Todd (Leah) Chisholm, Bryan (Danielle) Musolf, Jason (Jessica) Chisholm, Grant (Dana) Musolf, Michael Gang (deceased), Rachael (Chad) Bari, George (fiance Erika Bacci) Paras, Hannah (Greg) Mauro, and Elliott Gang and was the loving “Gigi” to her 10 great grandchildren.
Upon arriving in the US, Pat created several loving friendships who soon became her extended family as she laid down her roots in the westside of Cleveland. Many of the women became more than friends, they were the loving sisters she never had growing up. Together, the families would celebrate holidays, birthdays, have frequent parties, go on weekly picnics during the summer, and travel together. Eventually, Pat became the matriarch of this broader family who they fondly referred to as “Aunt Pat”. Throughout her life she stayed very close to her English relatives, who she loved dearly, and they shared many beautiful memories together.
Pat was an avid reader like her father known as “Happy” and she loved travelling, going out to dinner and shopping. “Home Goods” is going to miss her too. However, her favorite place was being in her own home, especially on her back patio, and spending time with the most important people in her life – her family. When they would come home to visit, she always did something to make them feel special, had their favorite meals (and beverages too).
In addition to her own family, her love of children showed when she took her first job as a helper to a class of kindergartners, worked in the library at St. Ignatius School and went on to support older children find jobs before retiring as Director of Youth Employment for Cuyahoga County. One of them named their firstborn child after her because of the impact Pat made on her life. Pat’s strong Catholic faith was part of her core being and while she was an active parishioner of St. Ignatius of Antioch for almost 70 years, she also had close ties to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where she was a member of their Sacred Heart Sodality for several years.
Pat is described as being as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She took pride in so many things in life, was very resilient, a role model to so many people she touched, and well known for her kindness, generosity, and loving nature. Pat had many sayings, and one of them, is “Live life without regrets” which she fully succeeded at.
Family and Friends will be received at 9:30 am on Monday, September 30th, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church located at 10205 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.
London, England was always considered home for Pat,and she will be interned there alongside her father, Horace and paternal grandmother, Anne.
