Ralph Peter Rocco

Born in Cleveland to the late Ernesto and Rose, Ralph grew up in the “old Italian neighborhood” in what is now Gordon Square, a place that shaped his values of loyalty, hard work, and devotion to family. Family truly meant everything to Ralph, and he carried that love with him throughout his life.

He was a devoted and loving father to Ralph and Lisa, and a cherished brother to Florence (Isabella) and Kathy (Guzzo). He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers Tommy, Sam, and Ernest “Peppy” and his former wife Helen.

Ralph was an adored uncle to many nieces and nephews and their families who meant the world to him. He took great pride in being “Uncle Ralph,” and the bond he shared with his family was deep, joyful, and steadfast.

As a young man, Ralph excelled as a wrestler in high school, a passion he later shared as an assistant wrestling coach at Cleveland State University alongside Richard Bonacci. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Ralph was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. He was also a longtime member of the Neighborhood Veterans Club, where he was honored as Man of the Year, a recognition that reflected the respect and admiration he earned through his service, character, and commitment to others.

Ralph retired as a clerk from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court System, where he was known for his dedication and integrity. In his later years in assisted living, he found simple joy in playing lots of Bingo, proudly using his image-personalized chips.

Ralph was loyal, kind, and deeply dependable. He was well-liked, always willing to help, and never hesitated to lend a hand or be there when someone needed him. You could count on Ralph for anything. His friendships were lasting, and his presence brought comfort, warmth, and a sense of belonging.

Ralph P. Rocco leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Family and friends are invited to meet Saturday January 31, 2026 from 9:30 - 10:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 6928 Detroit Ave. Cleveland Ohio 44102. Where his Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am. Burial with U.S. Army Military Honors in the St. Benedict Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
