WILLIAM MARTIN MAHON, age 79, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Karen L. (nee Garrett); dear father of David M. (Debra) and James P. (Rebecca); devoted grandfather of Kaleigh, Jacob, Stephanie and Nora; Brother of Catherine, George, Carol, Patricia, Terrance, and the late Lawrence, Joseph, Elaine, Ralph, Eileen, Harry, Joyce, and Thomas; Uncle of many.
Bill enlisted in the navy, working as a cryptographer stationed in Rota, Spain. After leaving the navy, he worked as an accountant at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company and received his bachelor's degree in finance from Cleveland State University. He re-commissioned into the Navy in 1980 and retired at the rank of Commander in 2005 after 31 years of service.
Bill loved to golf, travel, listen to classical music, and attend theater and opera.
Come celebrate Bill’s life Tuesday, September 9, from 4-8pm in the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home 14768 Lorain Rd., Cleveland. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, at 10am in St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, 10205 Lorain Rd. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Rd.
