Clary was born on July 1, 1954, in Malax, Finland, the daughter of Ragne and Alfred Svevar.
Clary graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Arts Education. She was employed as an Art Teacher by the City of New Haven, retiring in 2011. Clary will be most remembered for her kind spirit, loving and exuberant personality.
She is survived by her daughter Carly Neil; brothers Alan and John Svevar; sisters Christine Birdwell and Linda Glatt; nine nieces and nephews; dear friend Billy Zajac; and ex-husband James Neil.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 9th at 3:30pm, at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, CT.
