

Francis H. Wettemann, 78, of Killingworth, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 surrounded by his family, at Middlesex Hospice, Middletown. Beloved husband of Patricia (Freeman) Wettemann. He was born in New Haven on March 6, 1932 to the late Francis and Mabel (Hall) Wettemann. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Francis was employed at New Haven Water Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1994. Francis loved the outdoors and traveling around the country. For a night out; dinner, and a movie was special to him. He was always smiling, never had a bad word to say, and was a friend to all. Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by 3 children: David F. Wettemann; Thomas W. Wettemann – both of Clinton; and Patricia M. Schoen and her husband Brad of Spring Hill, FL; 2 brothers: Bruce Wettemann and his wife Elaine of Killingworth, Bernid Wettemann and his wife Pat of Vermont; a sister: Barbara Zavorskas of Guilford; 2 grandchildren – who were the light of his life: Valerie and Kyle Schoen; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., on Tues. May 4, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Wed. May 5 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow with military honors at Evergreen Cemetery, Greenhill Rd., Killingworth.
