

Glenn M.P. Mudd, age 77 of Westbrook passed away on July 20th, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital, beloved husband of the late Barbara McCandless. Glenn was born in Jefferson, Kentucky on February 20, 1934, to the late James Robert and Gleno May (Daigh) Mudd.
Glenn served in the U. S. Navy from 1952 to 1959, a portion of which was during the Korean War. He later enlisted with the Army National Guard and served with Company D1-151 Infantry, stationed in Madison, Indiana for more than 20 years, eventually transferring to Company D1-102D Infrantry in Ansonia, Ct.
He honorably retired from the military with the rank of Sergeant First Class, Rank E-7 in February of 1994.
After his long military career he worked for NAPA in Clinton for 21 years, plus helping out in Westbrook, Guilford and Old Saybrook NAPA locations. He loved NASCAR and collected many of the model cars as well as building military airplane models. Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver. In his early years he loved his Goldwing and Harley motorcycles. Glenn was a fan of Women’s College Basketball, particularly UCONN and the N.Y. Giants. You could find Glenn after work watching the History Channel or reading a good book. Westbrook has lost a good friend.
He is survived by his three children, his son Jonathan J. Mosey of Westbrook, two daughters Deborah S. Koons and her husband Jeff of Clinton, and Lisa A. Mosey of Torrington, Ct. One brother John R. Mudd and sister Pat Webb, of Louisville, Ky as well as sister Bonnie Kippes of Lebanon Junction, KY and Nephews Mike Mudd and James Gary Mudd. After Glenn’s sister Mary passed away, Glenn’s mom and dad adopted her children, Ronald B. Mudd, Laura Light, Sandy Mudd and Debbie Davis. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Katrelle Randell of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Vernon R.J. Mitchell of Essex and Kalia S. Mitchell of Newport News, VA and eight grand children. He also leaves behind his beloved cat BANDIT.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main Street, Clinton Saturday , August 6, from 10 to 12 with a service following at 1 pm at the First Congregational Church in Westbrook, with full military honors.
