

With deep regret and sorrow, we announce the passing of Jesse Ryan Hagy, beloved husband, father and grandfather. Jesse passed peacefully at home with his family caring for him on July 14th, 2012. He was born on August 6th, 1923, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Jesse and Lucia Lerch Hagy. Jesse had been a resident of Westbrook, CT, since 1998. Prior to that, he had lived in Tampa, FL. Jesse attended the University of New Mexico after serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. He was a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1951 to 1977. During this time, he was stationed in New Haven, CT, New York City, Washington, D.C., San Juan, PR, Dallas, San Antonio and Brownsville, TX, Tampa, FL, and Pittsburgh, PA. He was a Legal Attache of the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Jesse retired in August, 1977, as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh office. He then worked as a private investigator in Pittsburgh, Miami and Tampa. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Clinton, CT. Jesse is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Leslie Hagy of Westbrook, CT; his daughter Lisa Hagy of Branford, CT; son James Hagy, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Hagy, and grandchildren Jesse Hagy, III and Riley Hagy, all of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Services will be private. The family would like to thank Middlesex Hospital Homecare for their warmth and caring.
