Joseph Mohr Shorten, 91, of Clinton, formerly of Stamford, beloved husband of the late Rita L Hopkins Shorten passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT.
He was born on June 28, 1933 in Greenwich, Connecticut and was the son of Richard and Margaret Klump Shorten.
Joseph served with pride and honor in the United States, Navy, and later went on to become a machinist at Pitney Bowes in Stamford.
Joe is an avid boater and fisherman. He loved riding his Honda Ruckus moped and being out on his Dory boat. He will be greatly missed.
He survived by his daughter Andrea Brod of Clinton and his three grandchildren; Lorraine Brod, Joey Brod and Taylor Brod. He also survived by two great grandchildren; Brayden Clark and Maddax Fowler and his brother Richard Shorten of Frederick, Maryland, and niece Margaret Shorten.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 25th at 11 AM in Beaver Brook Cemetery in Clinton, with military full honors
