Mark A. Marsella

Mark A. Marsella, 51, of Clinton, a loving and dearly beloved son, father and friend passed away June 15, 2013. He was born November 18, 1961 in Marlborough, MA, son of Katherine and the late Robert Marsella of Shrewsbury & Brewster, MA. Mark graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, MA in 1979 and Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1983. Mark worked at Norsk Data, Sun Microsystems and most recently owned his own computer consulting business. Mark married the former, Cynthia Porter in Mashpee, MA on July 22, 1995. He is survived by his mother Katherine; his cherished and beloved daughter, Alexandra Katherine; his Aunt Deena Burkhardt of Worcester; his Aunt and Uncle Kenneth & Eleanor Scott of Rutland, MA and their children Kristin & Kenneth; Cousins David and Roseann Smith of Worcester and their daughter, Jennifer. Mark was an avid sailor and learned to sail as a child on Lake Quinsigamond. He was a member of Duck Island Yacht Club where he competitively raced his sailboat, Ice3, and also crewed on many other boats. Mark adored his daughter, Alexandra, and his love and spirit will live on in her heart forever. Mark was a kind and loving soul, a friend to all and was always there to lend a helping hand. Friends and family are invited to call at the Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton, CT, Thursday, June 20, 4-7 pm. A service will be held on Friday at 9 am at the United Methodist Church of Clinton, 12 Commerce Street, Clinton, CT. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, MA at 2:00 pm.
