Pasty (Ziemer) Zarcone passed away in Chester, CT on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the age of 81. Patsy was born on March 27, 1942 to the late Herman and Charline Ziemer in Kankakee, Illinois. She is predeceased by her husband Michael Zarcone, brother John Ziemer, and son Russell Clifton. Patsy is survived by her loving children, Betty Pokrinchak of Middlebury, CT, Michael Zarcone Jr. of East Setauket, NY, Debbie Zarcone Rajaniemi of Woodstock, CT, Lynn Zarcone of Chardon, OH, Tracy Wackelin of Westbrook, CT, and Patina Gagne of Newburyport, MA. Patsy also had numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends she loved immensely.
Although Patsy was born in Illinois, her travels did not stop there. Patsy moved to Colorado, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Any time Patsy spoke of Colorado you could feel the passion exuding from her words as she described her time there. She would tell anyone who would listen all about how breathtakingly stunning the mountains were, her love of horseback riding, and how crisp the air was. It was obvious that Colorado was her happy place. However, her true happy place was anywhere her family was. As she settled down in Danbury, CT, with her late husband Micheal Zarcone, they found themselves not only being partners in life and love, but business as well. Patsy and Micheal ran a Coffee Vending and Food Service Company and were proprietors of the Medallion Room Catering Hall. In addition to these booming business ventures, Patsy’s family began to blossom as well. Many of her children and grandchildren can attest to the number of times they went on runs to fill vending machines, help weigh the meat for sandwiches, or dance the night away on the dance floor at the Medallion room.
Patsy was the one who always showed up for those she loved, whether it was a recital, making Halloween costumes, graduation, wedding, arts and crafts with friends, trips to the casino, or more informally, but almost more importantly, a really essential conversation. Patsy was a listener. She had the kindest, most comforting, supportive, loving, and genuine way about how she went about her life. Patsy’s love and appreciation for her family, her connection to Mother Nature, ‘sweater weather’, Bingo, trips to Puerto Rico, or a good cup of coffee will never be forgotten. This beautiful human left a powerful and memorable mark on so many people’s hearts, and she will be missed dearly.
Interment will be a private family event. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Patsy’s name to: Dana Farber Cancer Institute https://www.dana-farber.org In honor of Patsy’s late son Russell, who lost his battle earlier this year with pancreatic cancer.
