It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beth B. Harris, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother AKA Nana, sister, and friend. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 5, 1960, Beth graced this world with her compassionate spirit and unwavering love until her peaceful departure on October 19, 2024, in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township, Michigan holding the loving hand of her husband.
Beth was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Jeanne Brady, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and dedication. She carried these values throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered. She was a devoted student at St. Francis High School, where her passion for learning began. Her academic journey continued at Western International University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, a testament to her determination and ambition.
On December 27, 1981, in the picturesque town of Traverse City, Michigan, Beth married the love of her life, Richard Harris, known to all as Rick. Together, they embarked on a journey that would span over four decades, filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Beth was a steadfast partner, supporting Rick through his service as a military spouse for 20 years and her own 29 year career with the Department of Defense. She embraced the role with pride, embodying the American spirit with grace and strength.
Beth was a lifelong learner and a passionate creator. She found joy in making jewelry, translating her love for beauty and artistry into pieces that carried her unique touch. Her hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant personality, each piece a testament to her creativity and attention to detail.
A true adventurer at heart, Beth was a world traveler who had the privilege of exploring the rich cultures and landscapes of both Asia and Europe. Her travels broadened her perspective and enriched her appreciation for the diversity of life. Yet, despite her wanderlust, her greatest joy came from watching her sons, Justin and Ian, grow into remarkable men. She reveled in the blessing of seeing them raise their own families, welcoming her grandchildren—Giada, Aislan, Marina, Rowan, Brady, and C’anna—into the world with open arms and an open heart.
Beth was also a beloved sister to Jenny Brady Wooley, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Their sisterhood was a cornerstone of her life, filled with shared memories, laughter, and love.
Beth’s legacy is one of love, adventure, and dedication. She is survived by her devoted husband Rick; her sons Justin and Ian; her daughter in-laws Kenya and Neva; her adored grandchildren Giada, Aislan, Marina, Rowan, Brady, and C’anna; and her beloved sister Jenny. Her presence in their lives was a gift, her love a constant source of strength and warmth.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday October 30, 2024 at 9 AM, until time of the memorial mass at 9:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48313. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to pay tribute consider making a donation in Beth’s name to a charity of their choice.
Beth B. Harris lived a life full of love and adventure, and she will forever be remembered for her generous heart, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
