Carmen Bava, age 93, of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. She battled Alzheimer's disease for many years. Carmen was born in 1932 in Detroit, to Nazario and Luisa Sanchez.
Carmen was a strong woman, who raised her children with tough love. She was an excellent mother who would do anything for her children, teaching them discipline and honesty. She married Peter in 1961, was a devoted and faithful wife, who stopped working to stay at home to take care of the children. One thing that surely will be missed is her delicious meals. She liked to cook for her family and friends and had a box full of recipes. With her powerful voice, you could hear her calling you from far away, yet she could sing a gentle melody. She and her family owned plenty of music which she enjoyed listening to. In her spare time, she knitted and crocheted dozens of things, and played guitar. Her children’s friends affectionately called her “Mama Bava”.
Carmen leaves behind her husband Peter, daughter Cyndi (Ron), son David, granddaughter Jennifer, sister Virginia, and many nieces and nephews. Our family thanks you for your support and asks that you share this memorial with anyone who knew Carmen.
She will be missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
