Catherine “Nana” Seppey, 97, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025 in her home surrounded by family. She was born on February 8, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. Catherine was known for her spunky personality and had the knack of telling you how it was. She worked tirelessly as a waitress in the food industry throughout her life to provide for her family. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, word searches, playing cards and in her younger days, playing pool.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Kate Elmer; brother John Elmer and sister Alice Odren. Catherine is survived by her children Kenneth (Mary) Rottiers, Kristine (Michael) Thompson and Kathy (David) Bazzy. She was a loving grandmother to Kevin (Paulette) Hintz, Kimberly (John) Winarski, Kristin (Tim) Kopp, Kyle (Lauren) Bazzy, Bradley (Shauna) Bazzy, Zachary (Michelle) Bazzy and Keith (Robin) Rottiers. She was a caring great grandmother to Erin (Colin), Rachel, Mady, Samuel, Jack, Ava, Emerson, Joshua, Aaron, Micah, Kaleb, Logan, Beau and Vaughn with a great great grandchild due in December. She will also be missed by her beloved fur baby, Luna. Catherine’s legacy is one of love and a life deeply lived. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
A visitation for Catherine will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Friends may visit on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 AM.
