Charles E. Handley, of Fair Haven, our hardworking and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2021 at the age of 74. He was a proud Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He could always be seen in his veterans ball cap walking around the neighborhood with his beloved dog Frankie, getting the scoop on the neighbors. Charles dedicated 44 years to the manufacturing industry and retired from Westside Manufacturing in 2013. With his newfound free time after retirement, Charles spent much of it outdoors hunting and fishing. He especially looked forward to his yearly trip to the UP to spend time at deer camp with his family and friends and to fish on the beautiful lakes and streams. He took every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and pass on his knowledge of his hobbies and important life lessons.
Charles leaves to carry on his legacy, his beloved wife, Susan of 54 years. His loving children Scott (Elizabeth) Handley and Carrie (Jeff) Quillen. His cherished grandchildren Taylor (Ashlee Juricny) Quillen, Josh (Amanda) Handley, Lauren (Jared Modrak) Handley, Jake (Ceara Abbott) Handley, Collin (Amber Jannaro) Quillen, Ariel Handley, Ashton Handley, and Owen Quillen. His great grandchildren Aubrey, Aeden, Emma, Charlie, and Noah. His dear brothers Harlan (Marie) Handley and Gordon (Tracy) Handley, and his faithful companion Frankie. Charles was welcomed to heaven by his parents Harry and Margie Handley, his son Robbie Handley, siblings Raymond Handley and Linda Handley and his best friend Pete Henschel who welcomed him with open arms and a table for two at the Ham King.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.resurrectionfuneralhome.com for the Handley family.
