Christina loved gardening, cooking, baking, cleaning, golfing, reading, playing card games, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, especially the love-of-her-life George, her kids, grandkids, and loyal Golden Retriever Wally. She nurtured her gardens with the same love and care she gave her family, which was nothing short of spectacular, creating beauty that will live on in our memories. Christina worked as a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital (formerly St. Joseph’s) for 40 years. During her career she worked in ICU/CCU, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Manager of Outpatient Surgery. Her calling to nursing was as natural as her compassion – she made everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for, on and off the job. Her deep love of nursing inspired her husband to pursue the same path. Christina met her husband George, in high school, and they were married for 55 magnificent years. Out of everything Christina achieved in life, she was most proud of the family she and George created.
Christina is survived by her loving husband George; children: Kimberly (Kenny) Wasmund, George Steiner II, Michael (Stephanie) Steiner; siblings: Carryl (Terrance) Promowicz, Clarence Jr (Sylvia) Milton, Darlene (Tom) Weiss; in-laws: Rick and Marianne Pickard. Multiple grandchildren, a great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
