Dearest Betty and extended families,
It is with great sadness Chris and I learned of Dave's passing.  We feel most fortunate to have recently seen him at  another sad occasion in November and as always we greeted with a big hug.  Dave certainly was not only one of my closest coworkers for 20+ years but also a close friend of the Bruce Family.  We shared many laughs together at all the CBS Boring functions and if one needed some help, Dave was the one person you could count on time and time again.  Our prayers are with you and the entire family and know that Dave is safe in His arms.  God Bless you all during this time of grief. I promise Brother Jack and daughter Mary are there to greet him......

I remember clearly the first day you were hired into CBS. Your first jobs were shop related including washing down dirty machines and various maintenance duties before you were brought into the office to become our Purchasing Manager and eventually becoming the first Plant Manager of our Defiance Ohio plant and eventually back to  the     Fraser  office for your current sales position. I remember and treasure the close relationship we enjoyed over  the years. Your devotion and loyalty made you an extremely  valuable member of the CBS family for 36 years and you will be missed by many. 

I knew Dave since I was 17 years old.  I have so many great memories.  Only going to share a few.  Our first house on 12 mile Dave helped us out so much fixing and remodeling things that I had no idea what to do.  Believe it or not I was very thin back in the day and Dave put me on his diet.  Michelli's Bowling ally.  I had to eat and drink as much as Dave and pay for his lunch for consulting me.  Over the years he continued to take  all of our money at the annual poker games.  I have uploaded a few photos for you all to enjoy.  I will miss Dave very much!

Dave was one of my best friends in high school and stood up in our wedding back in 1977. Even though we didn't see each other much in recent years there would be a periodic email between us high school friends that would kind of rekindle the friendship. So many memories, but I'll list some funny ones; smelt dipping and Dave had to bite the head off the first one; another fish story by freaking out Fran and swallowing a goldfish; and all of the poker games in his parent's basement. It was very smart of his parents to give us a safe place to have fun and something all of us will remember. Love and miss you Dave and prayers for the entire family and friends.

I was blessed to have the chance to work closely with Dave for 25 years at CBS Boring.  He was more than a coworker to me, he was a true friend.  He was someone you could always go to talk to, to laugh and to cry.  Dave was one of a kind and I am having a very hard time knowing that he is gone, but he will never be forgotten.  We were not only coworkers, we were family.  Betty my heart goes out to you, so sorry for your loss.  I know that Dave will always be by your side.  His love for you was so strong, always remember that.  He will truly be missed.

Dave was the kind of guy that could always put a smile on your face. Sure going to miss  him at the annual card game that we would try to have every year. A good friend that truly will be missed.     God Bless Him

I only saw Dave once, perhaps if I was lucky, twice a year, on business, but I have probably known him for at least 15 years.  When I walked in to the office either in OH or in MI, I always felt as though I was reconnecting with a dear friend.  Dave would always make me feel at home whenever we would meet, and I am really sad that I won't get that feeling from him any longer.  I pass along my sincere condolences to his personal family and to his family at CBS.  I was lucky to have known him as long as I did.

Rick, Linda and Dave Bruszewski are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing.  I still can't believe it.  Way too young! You and your family are in our prayers.  We are in Florida now and will not make the funeral but we will be there in spirit. Love you ... Im am so  sorry! We are here for you for whatever you need.  

Dave has been a great friend since 7th grade, he taught me how to play poker, how to work on my house, and how to hunt and fish. He was a real Handy Man at a very early age and always willing to teach and help me fix stuff around the house. Dave was my best man,  the morning of my wedding he took me on his job delivering  wedding cakes for his Dad. What a great way to take my mind off the big day, Dave was always smart like that. I've been lucky enough to play cards with Dave for the last 40 years and will miss our yearly weekend poker games, GOD Bless You Dave and thanks for being my friend. 

I just saw the obit online, we are shocked and saddened. He was such a nice man, we all had such great times together. We love you Betty!


Last summer I was standing on the deck at the top of the stairs and Dave was there, as we were both looking at the waves and the condition of the beach. Dave related that when he was growing up the beach was huge. He would go out with the other Cedar Haven kids and play out on the sand all day.  They would bring buckets and shovels and other toys because it was such a large playground of sand. Sometimes they would even bring a lunch. Some of the parents brought out chairs to sit in on as it was to far just to go back and forth.  I could really tell how much he treasured Cedar Haven and the happiness it brought to his childhood. It was so nice to here some personal history and the family feeling that still prevails today.
