Hello, buddy!  I haven't written to you in a while, and still am missing you so very, very much!  I KNOW you are where you wanted to be, but darn it Glenn....I MISS YOU!!!  You were a "friend to the end" Glenn.  I know your mother and sister must miss you terribly.....you are a good, good soul!  I will probably never have another male friend light you....I think of you daily and wonder WHY?  But I guess I will get that answer when I cross over also.  I miss your smile, Glenn....your beautiful blue eyes......your laugh.  Life here is the same....VERY COLD right now, you would HATE it my friend!  Coldest winter we've had in many, many years.  OH.....I got a facebook message from my very first boyfriend......Jerry Johnson!!!!  OMG....it's been 39 years!  Life.....it's strange sometimes! Good Morning, Glenn!  It's been a while since I've "talked" to you.  And this is NOT because you're not thought of!!  LIFE....as you know, it gets the better part of us sometimes :(   Just listened to Dani and Lizzy again, DANCING IN THE SKY!  It's the song that makes me feel a little bit better sometimes about losing the ones we love.

This is the time of year I would LOVE to give you food.....cold days, warm plates!  You always loved eating what I cooked!! lol!   AND.....I LOVED cooking for you Glenn....you were so STUBBORN sometimes about taking the food!  But THEN.....you gave in!  YOU ATE THE FOOD!  ALWAYS!  Which, in turn, made ME REALLY HAPPY!!!!

Our world in NOT the same without you, buddy!  I know you are where you need to be, where you wanted to be Glenn.  But those of us left?  Well, we MISS YOU!  The lives of those you touched will forever miss YOU.  Your heart was golden, dear friend!  And your friendship....PRICELESS!

I want to thank you for being such a good friend to Laura.  You were neighbors for such a LONG TIME!  What?  14 years or so Glenn???  And you were ALWAYS there for her, come hell or high water!

Remember that night that you THOUGHT you lost your car keys?  But they were in YOUR TRUCK?  Your sister Laura came over and took you to the truck, and THERE THEY WERE!  LOLOLOLLLLLL Glenn!  That was SOME NIGHT!  Of course, we had COUNTLESS times like that.....every one of them MEMORABLE.

Oh my gosh, I cried like a baby!  He did such a beautiful job, Glenn!  I know you're proud!  He was a good friend to you! Hi Glenn!  There's a song I want to share with you, but can't seem to get it on here....you know ME, jack of all trades, master of none...lol!  Anyway, it's a song by Dani and Lizzy called Dancing in the Sky!  It's a beautiful song, Glenn....I'm sending it out to you!  I miss you so much, ya old buzzard!  Sheesh :p I guess that being 143 years old really DID get to you!!!  SEE?  I NEVER believed you were that old.....always told you how darned handsome you were, and there's no way you COULD be that old!  But you were right, Glenn!  I miss you, my friend, my confidant!  Oh gosh :'(  I'm lost, my friend....so lost.  Laura (your sister) has been in touch with my Laura (sis).  She's sending Laura and I the video Tom made!  OMG!  I cannot WAIT to see it Glenn! We lived peacefully side by side for the better part of 13 years. OH the times we had!!!
From the day you moved in, I knew we were going to have a special kind of friendship.

Lighting a candle for you, Glenn....I was outside on the balcony and looked up and said "If there IS life after death, please Glenn, send me a sign".  Immediately after that, my sweet friend, you sent me four geese flying right over my head, just HONKING away!  Thank you, Glenn!!!  You ALWAYS thought of me!  I miss you :(

It was a rough night last night, dear Glenn.  I miss your smile, your laugh....everything!  You were such a good friend to me and Laura.  Oh Glenn....I hope that you finally have found peace in heaven, my dear dear friend! You are loved!

My dear, sweet Glenn!  Now I understand why you never called me back.  I have so missed you since I moved in June....missed your company, missed especially cooking for you!  We had some very, very good times Glenn.  You are one of the kindest souls I have EVER met in my lifetime.  I know, by the conversations we had, that you were ready to go.  But then I think:  WHAT ABOUT US?  I miss you already, Glenn......thank you, my friend....you were ALWAYS there for me, and I YOU!  Rest in Peace Glenn!

I felt bad having missed 'Glenn's day' Saturday, but couldn't help but feel that HE was with me! Our first job of the day was a pole replacement on a BEAUTIFUL cattle and horse ranch in Covalo, CA. Beatiful views, and I couldn't help but think, "Glenn would have loved it out here". At almost 5pm, no sooner did I get back to the yard, when the foreman calls and asks me if I want to work. Before I could say yes or no, we were getting ready to go on an emergency call / wire down south of Clear Lake. Since I was driving the line truck and trailer, and my foreman is cool, I even got to take my dog Bullitt with me; a first. On our way back to the yard from this, we passed through a small resort town on the north shore, and I am not kidding, called 'Glenhaven' (only one 'n'). Getting into the yard at almost midnight, and after a 17 hour day, and making just north of four figures for one days' work, my best since I have been in the trade, I couldn't help but feel Glenn was smiling his understated smile and greeting me with a, "Hey Bobby" knowing somehow he was still with us, and I smiled too.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Vandenheede family for the loss of your dearest Glenn.  May you find comfort in knowing that Glenn touched the hearts and lives of many and will never be forgotten.  Rest in peace Glenn, until we meet again.

Glenn , I will always remember you as my very first friend in this life.  At age 5 we played Elvis in your garage, and hid the record player behind a sheet, played are tennis rackets as guitars and charged the neighbor 50 cents to come see us play.   I always hoped I would run into you and your brother Dave sometime, sorry I missed you, but will see you again in time.   Rest in Peace Glenn.

I'll miss that greeting "hey Pohl-Cat, my Amigo"! He was truly one of a kind, but most of all he was my friend and I loved him!

The adorable little boy often seen in the front of his home on Whitehill St. One could never know at that time Glenn would become a "most interesting" individual with so many talents and interests. Reading the many beautiful tributes leads me to believe  Glenn was much  loved. May you find comfort in one another at this time and know your former neighbors from Whitehill St. are with you in thought and prayer.

Dear Aunt Carolyn and family,

Words cannot begin to express my profound sadness upon hearing of Glenn's untimely passing.  Words have a way of sounding inadequet, or even trite during a time of such unfathomable loss.  Please know that you, David and his family, and Laura are constantly on my mind an in my prayers.

I just started a new project in an area Glenn would have appreciated; mountains, forest, and lakes.  It is be easy to picture him here, and I believe if he has any say in it, he is, and so to with all of us.

My heart is broken. I cannot begin to express the deep sorrow I have for losing our sweet Glenn. He was a tough guy, a real cowboy, wilderness survival guide, deeply passionate about nature and God's beautiful creation. But most of all he was a great big Sweetheart, who would do everything possible to help someone in need!

Worked with Glenn at JDL always looked forward to seeing him during the summer months he was a very nice man who always took the time to ask about your day he will be truly missed!

I worked with Glenn for many years and knew him as one of the nicest people I have ever met. He will be missed without a doubt.

Glenn had one of the kindest souls I've ever come across....he was such an amazing man, and I will forever miss him.  I know he has now found peace.
