Helene Joy Hackett

Beloved wife of the late William; cherished mother of John (Pamela) Hackett; Jamie (Ben Dixon) Hackett, proud grandmother of Michael, Jennifer, John Jr. (Adrian) and Tamie ( Charles); great-grandmother of Logan, James, Nolan, Cassie and Amanda (Cody). Great-great-grandmother of Lawson, Colton and Blakely. Also survived by many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edith Wright; and her three brothers: Jack, Jim and Richard Wright.

Helene was born on June 21, 1933 in Flint, Michigan. She graduated as Valedictorian of Flint Central High School, Class of 1951 and from Michigan State University with high honors. She married her middle school sweetheart, William, and they spent 70 years of marriage together. Helene taught elementary school in St. Clair Shores, Chesterfield Twp., East Detroit, and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for 14 years, taught Sunday School for 18 years, Genealogy Historian, Member of the St. Lucie County Genealogy and DAR (Daughters of the of American Revolution).

Private family memorial will be held at a later date.
