James Steven Randolph, “Steve”, age 65, of Clinton Township passed away on January 27, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 5, 1956 to the late Jimmy Lee Randolph and Betty Josephine (Bowling). Steve is survived by his love Patti Tromeur who he enjoyed many wonderful years with. They looked forward to their annual winter excursions to Arizona and the road trip of sightseeing heading south. These ventures brought them many new lifelong friends from Colorado to Oregon, they never went anywhere without embracing others.
He is survived by sons James Randolph II and John Randolph; his beloved grandchildren Autumn Randolph, Madison Lollio, Jillian Lollio, and Brody Lollio. Siblings Mark Randolph (Karen), Laura Ann Dean (Alan), and Cheryle Starnes (Tony). Sister-in-law Candi Randolph. Steve was a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews which he adored, cousins, aunts. He is preceded in death by his late wife Gretchen (Kowall) Randolph, Randall Lee Randolph (brother), and Jason Alan Randolph (nephew).
Steve’s professional career included working within the automotive industry as a CAD designer. His knowledge and skill led to many international projects while working in Europe, which allowed him to travel the world and experience the many joys of other cultures. He and Patti retired from Chrysler in 2009 and began enjoying their newfound free time to the fullest.
Steve enjoyed many hobbies all of which included sports, sports, and more sports! There was not a sport he had not played. He was an avid water-sportsman who loved boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing, and spent a lot of his time on the lake with family and friends. Boating weekends on Lake St. Clair was the highlight on summer weekends together with Patti and the close community of Belle Maer Marina. BBQ’s, playing cards, parades, parties, boating, swimming and round the clock fun and laughs. Memories that will be held close to heart.
Steve was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting in the fall and winter seasons. He was a great golfer, and loved all aspects of the game. He played on many leagues and tournaments throughout the years with his good friends and coworkers. He was a loyal and devoted U of M fan and was all about the maize and blue. Steve loved watching college and NFL football, listening to classic rock music, and eating his favorite treat; Hershey Kisses.
Most importantly, he will be remembered as a kind, loving man with an incredible personality that would always make you laugh! Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
