Jayetta Slone, age 68, of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away at home on November 17, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of Donald; Loving mother of Dawn Rubert (Jamison), Angela Capadagli (Brian) and Erica Hodge (James); Adored daughter of Martha Heiman; Treasured grandmother of Kyla Rubert, Alivia Slone, Joshua Slone, Dominic Capadagli, Rebecca Slone, Noah Capadagli and Jackson Capadagli; Dear sister of James Hensley (Faye); Dearest step-sister of Sandi McKernan (James), Gregory Heiman and Kelly Heiman. Jayetta is preceded in death by her father, James Hensley, sister Carol Brown and brother Dennis Hensley.
Jayetta was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and joy in life, caring for her husband and daughters. Later as her family expanded and brought her grandchildren, they too became her whole world. Jayetta enjoyed simple activities like reading, singing and dancing, but also had a knack for more complex activities like making jewelry. In their retirement, she and her husband Don became snowbirds, and she also was an active member of her Florida community. She will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 1-8 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan. A brief visitation will follow on November 22, 2022 from 9 AM, until time of funeral service at 10 AM, also at Resurrection Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jayetta’s memory.
