Jimmie was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on July 24, 1939 to Bert and Laura Smith. He graduated from Roseville High School and proudly served his country with the United States Army. He married Erma Durham on December 26, 1959.
Jimmie was a District Manager with Sherman Williams and a Sales Trainer with Chrysler for many years. He was an avid golfer, loved photography, traveling and talking with people. Jimmie was a youth leader and Sunday School Superintendent at Bethany Baptist Church.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Erma; their daughter, Sherri Smith; and brother, Michael Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Laura Smith; sister, Laura and her husband, Mike Hammond.
The family will greet guests from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp., Michigan. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 8 at Bethany Baptist Church, 19700 15 Mile Rd., Clinton Twp. Visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Committal service with Army Honors will be rendered at 11:00am on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, Michigan.
