Rubino (nee Licavoli), Joann age 76. September 2, 2025. Beloved wife of Danny Rubino. Devoted mother of Michael Rubino and Dominic Rubino. Proud Grandmother of Donavin Rubino. Dear sister of Grace (Frank) LaRocca, Rosalie (Jack) D’Urso, Michael (Kimberly) Licavoli and Joseph (Debbie) Licavoli. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Joann was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 28, 1948, to Dominic and Rosalie Licavoli. Her elementary school was Saint Clair of Monte Falco in Grosse Pointe and Dominican high school in Detroit. She married her husband, Danny, on June 24, 1970. They were together for 55 loving years.
She was the baker of delicious pies at Geppetto’s restaurant in Saint Clair Shores. She also cooked Thanksgiving dinner for family for many years and hosted the holiday which involved more delicious pies and desserts. Joann was dedicated to her career as an insurance agent for over 40 years in the metro Detroit area.
She enjoyed jazz music, hated musicals but suffered through a few for family member performances. Joann loved going out to dinner with her husband, siblings, and nieces and nephews.
Joann will always be remembered for her warmth and generosity. She has always shown remarkable tenacity and determination, facing challenges with grace and resilience that inspired all who knew her. Her kindness, strength of spirit, and loving nature will remain in the hearts of her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and courage will continue to live on through everyone who loved her.
Joann will be greatly missed by her husband Danny, sons Michael and Dominic; grandson Donavin, family, friends, and dog Levi.

Visitation for Joann will be Monday, September 8th at 10:00 am until an 11:00 am Memorial Service at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035.
