Jeffrey you & your entire family have my extreme sorrow for the death of your Beloved Father Joseph. Remember Jesus words "Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4.

Greg and I will always remember the visits with Uncle Joe and Aunt Betty on their Sunday visits to the Lang house. We enjoyed listening to his sports and political discussions and his harrowing tales of being a mailman! Uncle Joe was always interested in what was happening in our lives and was very proud of his whole family. Our sympathy goes out to Jeff and his family.Love, Greg and Lisa Lang

Joe was such a kind person and a gentle sole.  He loved his Son Jeffrey dearly and it always tickled me when I heard him call his Son "little buddy."  They were best of friends. Jeff, May you cherish these moments forever and Joe know that  you were loved my many and may your sole rest in peace.

We first met Joe when he came to mow the lawn of his wonderful son & family that was soon to be our neighbors and close friends.  He spoke so highly of the Randa's that we felt we already knew them when they finely moved in. We got to know and love Joe & Betty over the years and had the privilege to became a part of this wonderful family.  He always had a kind and loving word for everyone and we sad to lose him.  There is no doubt that Joe & Betty are watching over their family now and forever.  We miss you and your smile Joe!

Marilyn & I will alway remember Joe & Betty for their kindness & friendship.

There are no words to describe my Uncle Joe.  I adored him and Aunt Betty.  The truly cared about my family and my favorite memories are our birthday get togethers we always had a great time when we were all together.  My Uncle Joe made a point to come visit me every month he would come in person to pay his water bill and make sure he would come and talk to me.  He would always ask about my family and he truly was interested in what was going on in our lives.  He was so proud of Jeff and his family and I knew they meant the world to him.  I will miss him and our monthly meetings but I know he is in heaven with Aunt Betty and my dad having a wonderful time and now I have someone else to watch over me.  Love you and bless you Uncle Joe. Joe Randa was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who always put his love of, and care for, his family before anything else. His true legacy will be that of what he gave of himself to all the people he touched.

Amongst the most important things a father will teach his child are those transcendent values of humanity and morality that define and sustain us as a people. When I was very young, my father taught me the value of forgiveness.  He led by example.  As I grew, there were many times that I required a father's absolution.  My dad gave it freely.  

My dad didn't need a self-help book to know that such things are toxic.  Instead, he lived with a smile on his face and a heart full of joy.  He was never encumbered by grudges or resentments.  This kept him free of stress and undoubtedly played a role in his longevity. 

If you knew my dad, you liked him.  Everyone liked my dad.  If you'd ask him about how or why he was able to get along so well with everyone, he'd answer, “you have to be nice to people.”  

For my dad, this wasn't an act.  He was nice on the outside because he was nice on the inside.  He enjoyed people.  He got to know people for who they really were, regardless of race or creed or anything like that.  My dad never thought of others in terms of any kind of label.  By the same token, he never pretended to be anything other than himself, either.  He was a decent and good and simple man, full of love for the world and the people around him.  He was unfailingly kind and generous, and had a heart of gold.  You simply can't do better than that.    

My dad was intensely devoted to his family.  He was a good son to his parents, and a good sibling to his late brothers.  He treasured my mom like she was a new gift from heaven each and every day.  They were soul mates, married for more than 60 years before her death in 2008.  My mom used to call my dad her “little saint Joseph.”

He gave everything he could to help me get ahead, and I am truly grateful for it.  He always put his family first.  He gave of himself without reservation.  That was my example.  Now, as a father myself, I look to my dad as my role model.  The only way to repay him is with my eternal gratitude and to follow his lead and do the same for my family.

In at least one way, I was able to give back my dad (and my late mom, as well) with the gift of Ava, my daughter.  Nothing can come close to the smile that would cross his face when he would see or hear Ava.  She represented pure goodness and joy to him.  

This hurts.  I really miss my dad.  I'd talk to him multiple times every day.  He was a loving father and grandfather, and a great person just to know.  By simply being who he was, he taught me life's most important lessons, and my life, and the lives of all who knew him, have been enriched immeasurably because of that.  He was, really, a gift to all of us, on loan from God.

Rest in peace, dad.  I'll always love you and mom with all my heart, and I'll miss you every single day I live, as will Debbie and Ava.  Thanks for teaching me and all of us so well.  You'll live on in our memories forever, and the best tribute we can make to you is to follow your example as best we can.

Dear Papa Bear,

You were the best grandpa any granddaughter could ask for. There are countless lessons you taught me that I will never forget. We had such a close relationship that I wouldn't have traded for anything. You played such a pivotal role in my life and I'm at a loss without you. All the little things we did, and things you taught me are flooding back, and even though it makes me sad, I'm thankful for you. I know you're looking over my shoulder and smiling as I write this. Do me the favor of watching over those who love you, but most importantly Daddy. You did such a good job raising him because he's doing a good job raising me. I love and miss you, Papa Bear.
