Joyce was born in Toronto and later lived in Pembroke. She was a waitress in Windsor and met her true love, Earl, at the Dance Hall in Windsor. Joyce and Earl were married for 60 years.
Joyce enjoyed cooking, baking, and cake decorating, painting, camping, knitting and to crochet. She was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and also found joy in helping care for others outside of her home by helping Meals on Wheels and as a cook at a Daycare. Joyce was a kind soul who will be missed by all who knew her.
Joyce is survived by her children, Terry (Fran), Earl Jr, Lynn, Patricia, Nancy and Michael (Nancy); her grandchildren, Patrick Mohan Jr, Shannon Mohan, Michael Mohan Jr, Eric Mohan, Jeremy Berger, Sara Berger; her great-grandchildren Leila, Kai, Samantha, Jazmyne, Codey; nieces and nephews, Cathy, Susan, Sharon, Greg, Ken, Keith, and Donna. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Earl; and her sisters Patricia Greavette and Barb Jones.
An instate for Joyce will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 from 11:30 am until the time of a Funeral Mass at Noon St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 48115 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township, MI 48315. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.
