A loving wife and mother, Karla died after a brief and unexpected illness. Karla is predeceased in death by her parents, Bill and Dorla Knapp; and her beloved children, Stephanie Nicole Nichols-Trombley and Joseph John Nichols. Karla is survived by her husband Brian of 40 years; her sister, Chris (Gary) Fecs; her brother, Billie (Kathy) Knapp; her brother, Harold (Barb) Knapp; and sister, Terra (John) McMurray. Karla is also survived by her brother-in-law, Mark (Penny) Nichols; her sister-in-law, Leslie Nichols; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Karla was a devoted wife and mother who valued her family above all else. To all those who were lucky enough to know Karla, they knew her to be kind, caring and thoughtful. She worked the majority of her life as a waitress and enjoyed meeting new customers; many of whom became regulars and even some becoming friends.
Karla was an avid baker and loved baking for family and friends; especially during the holidays. She also developed a devoted following of other folks who regularly purchased her baked goods. She was a huge poker fan and would frequently play in tournaments with family members, often bringing home winnings. Karla also enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her friends, family and cats. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Visitation for Karla will be Wednesday, November 30th from 3pm - 8pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1st at 10 am until the time of Funeral Services at 11am at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 26830 W Park St, Roseville, MI 48066.
