Kathryn "Jeannie" Ricard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this life on April 8, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on May 2, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, Jeannie was the treasured daughter of William and Margaret Donnelly, growing up alongside her siblings Bill, Jim, and Sr. Margaret Rose in a loving Irish-Catholic household.
Jeannie found her lifelong companion and the love of her life, Joe, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter in St Clair Shores, Michigan. Joe's passing left a void in Jeannie's heart, but their enduring love remains a testament to their bond.
As a devoted mother, Jeannie's love knew no bounds. She leaves behind three adoring children, Dawn (John) Choike, Diane (Mark) Fehlman, and Debbie (Daina) Rimac, who were the center of her world. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever be cherished by her eight grandchildren, Amber (Eric), Katie, Alexa (Elrich), David, Alex, Matthew, Anna, and Jenna, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, and Avery.
In addition to her roles as wife and mother, Jeannie found immense joy as a daycare provider and was affectionately known as "Grandma Jeannie" by the many children she cared for over the years. Her dedication to children was unparalleled, and her profound impact will live on through the generations she helped shape.
Jeannie's zest for life extended beyond her family. Her creative talents found expression in arts and crafts, and she delighted in spending her free time coloring and creating beautiful works of art. She also had a passion for decorating for the holidays, bringing joy and cheer to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Please join in celebrating Jeannie's life on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 12–5:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Resurrection Funeral Home, located at 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan.
