Condolences to Lise, Jenny & Stephanie who miss him every day.

When Tony and I first met Kenny it was through my business relationship with Lise.  The four of us quickly became friends and have shared a ton of laughs over the years.  My earliest memory of Kenny was while we were out in Las Vegas quite a few years ago, most likely for NADA.  Kenny had just picked up his T-Bird in Henderson.  At the end of the show Kenny picked Lise, Cheryl Baron and I up in the car and we cruised up and down Las Vegas Blvd.  Kenny was grinning from ear to ear. 
Friends like Lise and Kenny come along once in a lifetime.  We went on a cruise together several years ago and I can't think of when we've ever had more fun.  Kenny and I got along really great the one day.  Neither he nor I can swim so we sat in beach chairs with binoculars watching people at the nudist beach next door.  You can only imagine the comments when the older nudists walked by.  Kenny got me good.  He tapped me and said "Here comes a guy with his thing hanging out"  I about broke my neck swinging the binoculars around only to see a male dog coming my way. 
Our daughter Katie shared that she will miss the annual Woodward Dream Cruise with her Dad and Kenny.  They went every year. I think they did more talking than car watching but they always had a great time.
The last time I saw Kenny was this past New Year's Eve. He was in the hospital.  Tony had gone by earlier in the day for a visit  while I was preparing for our annual New Year's party.  Tony had picked up a blinking New Year's necklace for Kenny to wear.  Kenny and Lise FaceTimed us from the hospital.  We talked for a good half hour I think.  The one thing that struck me was that Kenny told us this would be the first time since he had met Lise that they would not be together for New Year's Eve.  If that isn't love I don't know what is.
Tony, Katie and I will miss Kenny's kindness, generosity, mischievousness, treats and most of all his hugs.  Rest in Peace Kenny.  We're sure that heaven is a brighter place with you in it.

Double dating to Bob Lo on an evening cruise; nights of drinking at Pat’s Cafe in Hamtramck and, watching and listening as you barreled down Mound Rd in your Dodge Charger; doing wheelies in my ‘77 gmc van on a frozen Lake Van Ethan; getting stuck in an ice-covered ditch in Standish and to be pulled out by a farmer and p/u truck; watching you and Andy shooting at beehives; killing a 12-pack and pizza as we watched many a Red Wing game on Arden St;  playing pool with Larry and Andy either at Larry’s or Pampa Lanes; playing pinochle until 4am (pizza break at 1:30am) while baby Jennifer fell asleep  next to us with her favorite blanket; watching our little girls open presents on Christmas morning; knocking down a monster beehive from your Eastburn house because I owed $50 from 2-handed pinochle; cards at the K of C and then  at Norm’s til 7am on your Friday bowling nights;  hours of euchre with Sharon and Lise; getting out of the way from your golf shots (no one was safe);  playing hours of horseshoes in Oscoda until blisters appeared; the most appreciated and remembered moment was when Ken stopped at St John’s Hospital at 6:30 a.m. in 1975 to see if Sharon and I were 
okay.

What can one say about a brother who had a heart of gold and a devilish disposition — he could irritate you but you could not stay angry.  Ken cared deeply about everyone he knew.  We had many wonderful times together and I miss him everyday.  Love you lots!

My favorite memory was when we went to New Orleans. Lise and my husband Rick was working the NADA show. Kenny and I spent the day on Bourbon street partying and listening to some great entertainment at the bars.  At one of the bars  one of the band members serinaded us like we were a couple. It was so funny! Ironically on the day of his life celebration I was again in New Orleans and on Bourbon Street with Rick.  We did a toast to him. Peace to you Kenny. Our soul never dies so I know you are with us. 

Lise, I still remember coming to your house after our round of ladies golf and a Kenny fixing dinner and pampering us!  He was truly a wonderful man.  I am sad we didn’t get to see you both more often! My prayers are with you💙

Jenny-  I remember at a very young age being at my grandparents house on Fairmount.  Right across the fence was your parents house on Eastburn. Your Dad would always  tinker around the backyard. But he always found time to smile and chitchat with us for a while. 

Then in high school, you and I became close friends.   I had the pleasure of getting to know both your parents pretty well.   Your Dad was a big-time jokester. He would always crack me up!   Your Dad was such a cool Dad! I remember thinking "I wish I had a Dad like that."   I still remember him under the hood of that giant burgundy Lincoln that you used to drive trying to fix things. 

Your Dad was always there for you, looking out for you and I know that he will continue to do so. I know it's so sad that he's gone but he really isn't gone.   There is nothing that I can say or do that will make you feel any better but know that his life was significant and his memories will last forever.  He is still looking out for you Jenny and your entire family.

I met Kenny at the start of the bowling season in the fall of 1979. I was just out of high school and Kenny was 32, my first impression was "WOW the old guy can party...lol .. Kenny and I have been great friends ever since, we bowled together for something like 20 years.Kenny knew all the good Rock and Roll bars around Detroit and we went to them all on our Friday night after bowling fun time. Those nights would also include many a stops at HoJo's for all you can eat fish after the bars. I remember just swinging by the Farmer Jacks to grab a steak to throw on the grill and just hang out with Kenny at his home on Eastburn. Kenny was always so full of life and fun, I'm so glad that I was able to be his friend all these years. Sure going to miss that call " have Dave we're about do for a White Castle " !!!  Sure going to miss you Rattle Snake !!!!!

When I first met my soon to be husband's friend Kenny, I thought to myself isn't he a little old for us to be hanging with?? It didn't take long for me to realize Kenny could stand on his own and out party the best of us! I grew to love him and that sneaky little smile and twinkle in his eye when I called him out for eating sweets he shouldn't have been!  Kenny stood up in our wedding, when we opened our wedding card later that night along with the cash gift Kenny included a very thoughtful gift we greatly enjoyed, I found remnants of it many years later when I looked  through my cards I had kept and smiled all over again.  Kenny also liked to give Dave little items (colored blue) for our entertainment,  you have to adore that man, he loved to share and spread happiness and fun!! Kenny will be greatly missed by all his friends as you never knew what he would say, give you, etc. that would bring out that "yea I know I'm misbehaving, so what" smile! You left us too soon you stubborn man , but you lived your life the way you choose and by what you could sneak by Lise!  Love ya,  Rox

I have hundreds of great memories with Kenny, from shooting pool for money to get us by, playing poker, playing golf, there are just to many.  He was my buddy for 50 years.  I miss him now and will miss him for a long time.  May he bring Joy to all in Heaven, in is own silly way, as he did here on earth.  You were my brother, and I loved you and alway will.  Rest in peace until we meet again.


i will miss ken on paczki day when there is no one to steal my jelly paczki  .     he was always fun whenever we got together.     he will be missed ,  he leaves a hole in our lives.

Dear Lise,

I'm sorry that I will not be able to attend Saturday's memorial service for Kenny. Unfortunately I have a prior commitment in Southfield and cannot make it  in time.  I will be thinking of you and your family while you honor Kenny.  He was a warm compassionate man with a great sense of humor and he will be missed.  I'm sorry for your loss.

There are no words to express my sadness for the loss of Ken.  I will always remember him for his sweet smile.  I would call the house to talk with Lise, and he would always chat with me first before sometimes telling me she wasn't even home at the moment.    I am so grateful we were able to spend some time together in Florida when we were there in January.   When we said our goodbyes and gave each other big hugs, he called me back to him for a second one.  I think that will be my lasting memory of Ken.  The love I have for Lise is immense,  we have know each other for so long.   Ken will always be remembered as a wonderful man.   The man who took such wonderful loving care of my best friend.  RIP Kenny.

Thinking of you now Kenny, as my "claw" mouse hand just won a game of Hearts (your favorite).   This one's for you--you are in my heart.

I only hung with Ken in my early twenties and late teens for short periods, like for a few summer weeks etc. We did ride motor cycles together back in the late 60’s. Ken bought a motorcycle with a fabulous paint job. I believe It was done by “Wild Bill”  a highly renowned custom painter. It had plenty of silver metal-flake with a blue background, and on the sides of the special gas tank was clearly the name “Pussy Galore” a James Bond movie character….Ken had swagger with coolness.

 Once, while occupying my parents house when they were vacationing we had a contest. It was to see who could stay up the longest. Ken narrowly won, after about 36 sleepless hours of party etc. He was never dull.

Jim and I have nothing but the fondest memories of Ken. Our kids grew up together and were very close like family.  And that’s how we will remember Ken as part of our family.  He always had a smile and something comical to say.  We are so very sorry for you Lise, Jen, Steph  and all of your family for the loss of this wonderful man. We love you all very much.💕

My heart is sad at the loss of sweet Ken. As a neighbor and classmate it seems that Kenny was always there. He will be greatly missed especially for his kindness and smiles. I'll never forget how we Trick or Treated for my sister who had the measles. Of course we were why to old and got lots of looks. We also returned a wallet we found with lots of money in it. Then we got the door slammed in our face !!!!  Oh the memories ❤️🙏🏼

Dear Jenny, Stephanie and Aunt Lise:

Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

I will always remember him being goofy and talking like daffy duck when we were kids, and playing the "barking dogs singing jingle bells" phone call every Christmas.  He was definitely the jokester, and that is what leaves so many wonderful memories for us all as we complete our own journey's in life.  Sending lots of love, Kristen.


Ken had a lot of friends…I’m glad I was one.   We were very close from the later years of high school through college. He was also the best man at our wedding. Since I live in Chicago we last saw Ken and Lise a couple of years ago. He delighted in telling my wife Sherry and my daughter’s stories about those early years. Knowing Ken… I’d like to celebrate our friendship by sharing a few stories.

Ken had an interesting sense of humor.  He could take an ordinary situation that most others would ignore and make it funny. I remember him laughing and telling me a funny story. He answered the phone and a boy asked him if his sister was home. Ken replied and laughed “She’s always home”.  Who else would have done that?

He was very comfortable with people and got along with everyone. Coming home from work or Wayne State I wasn’t surprised to see Ken in the living room with my Dad watching television…having a beer. 

After Center Line HS graduation a number of us bought motorcycles. Since Ken didn’t like riding on the back of a motorcycle he decided to buy one. He bought it “used” and it stood out from the others. It had a great paint job but we all stared in awe at the lettering on the gas tank…named after a female character in the James Bond film...P***y Galore. Needless to say…even after the attention it got he didn’t change it.

Hopefully you get the picture…he was a one of a kind.

Ken will be missed but his memories remain. May God’s strength help Lise, his daughters, and family through this difficult period.


Kenny, my brother, was quick witted and always had a joke.  We would argue over the green train when we played Mexican Train.  Later I would find that green train in my plant, on my pillow, hidden somewhere in my house.  At one point he bought 6 more varied green trains...I still have not found them.  I will think of him every time I play that game.  I will miss all the laughs and teases.  May the Holy Spirit Comfort his family as they remember all the good times, holidays, birthdays, and vacations up in Oscoda.  Those memories will stay with me also.  I love you Kenny.

Have really enjoyed getting to know Kenny and Lise these past few years that they have been coming to Florida. I have some good and some funny memories of being Kenny's golf partner for a couple years and always enjoyed our Monday lunches with the guys. Most of us guys usually wait for the next Monday to decide where to go. Not Kenny.  He wanted to know before we left where we were going next week. Really kept us on our toes. Wonder who that job will go to now? Prayers to you Lise and the rest of his family and friends during this difficult time of sorrow. You will be missed my friend. RIP until we meet again.

 I think of Kenny daily, During our time here in Florida we would hear from each other  several times a week.  We have been friends since high school and I still find it difficult to believe he’s gone.  
   I have many memories of Ken, most of them involving beer  and his 57 Chevy 
   May God grant strength to Lise, Stephanie, and Jennifer and their families  and Kenny’s brother and sisters  during this difficult time
