Muntaha dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home for her husband of 50 years, Najib (Jim), and their three children. After their wedding in Jordan, they moved to Michigan where she served as a homemaker and managed the family businesses for many years.
Muntaha’s commitment included long hours at work and years of tireless service. Every day included a home cooked meal, and her kitchen was the meeting place for Sunday dinners, holiday feasts, and impromptu gatherings. Her specialty was the Jordanian dish mansaf (yogurt, chicken and rice). It gave her joy to serve and share with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Tatta (grandmother) was known for preparing an abundance of arabic food and was zealous that her kids and grandkids take home leftovers that seemed to be planned in advance. Even in her last days, Mona remembered important occasions in the lives of her grandchildren.
In retirement, she and Najib traveled the world together and spent winters in Florida. After his passing, her love for painting showed through in beautiful portraits and landscapes that her family will cherish forever. Her generosity, strength and unwavering dedication to the family will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her three children Jennifer (Adam) Marks, Michael (Jennifer) Ayoub and Carol (Mike) Bolt and her grandchildren, Evan, Isabel, Nate, Hope, Martin, and Grace.
A graveside memorial celebration of Muntaha’s life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:00pm at Bruce Armada Cemetery, 14996 Armada Center Rd, Bruce Township, MI 48065.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
