Nancy May Brinkley

Beloved Nancy May Brinkley, 73, of Clinton Township, went home unexpectedly to be with the Lord on December 15, 2020. She was born March 2, 1947 to the late John & Margaret Bilida in Detroit, Michigan. She married Roger Ray Brinkley on May 20, 1966 at St. Juliana’s Church in Detroit, Michigan. The man she faithfully loved for 54 years was at her side in her final moments at home.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor, giving selflessly to all those who were blessed to know her. She enjoyed a twenty-seven and a half year long career as a postal carrier, bringing joy, along with the mail each day, to those on her mail route, but most of all she was passionate about her family and her garden. Her ability to love and nurture was exemplified in her garden with what she was able to get to grow and bloom, making it look easy.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Brinkley, her sons, Craig and Curt Brinkley, her daughter, Karen Brinkley (Jordan), her sisters, Peggy Day (Beaverton, Oregon), Judi Farmer Pannell (Milton, Florida), and three grandchildren, her granddaughter, Anikka Jordan, and her grandsons, Orion Jordan, and Bailey Jordan all of whom were her pride and joy.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20740 South Nunneley Rd., Clinton Township, MI 48035. Nancy will lie in state at 10:30 a.m. with mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Father Douglas Bignall will preside.

Seating with members of one's household, in every other pew, is recommended. Mask wearing for the safety and comfort of others is appreciated.
