Paul David Lee, age 74, of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away at his home on July 9, 2025. Born in Detroit on February 16, 1951, to Arthur and Anne Lee, Paul was raised, and resided in, Warren, MI. He went to Fitzgerald High School, later graduating from Macomb Community College with a degree in Computer Programming.
Paul was one of those rare people who made life feel just a little easier simply with his presence. Whether he was strumming his bass guitar, sipping coffee at all hours (warming up and forgetting his mug in the microwave just as often), or rallying behind the Detroit Tigers year after year, Paul went with the flow we call “life”; always accepting things as they are, no matter the obstacle.
More than anything, Paul was funny, laid-back, and loved deeply. He was a soft place to land, a steady presence, and a man who knew the value of good music, good pastries, a good steak, and good people. And The Beatles. Always the Beatles.
He is survived by his daughters, Carmen Smith (Padraic) and Candice Parks (DJ); his beloved grandchildren, Kage Anthony Winnen, Hailey Parks, and Knoella Parks; and his brothers, Glenn Lee and Brian Lee (Donna). He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur G and Anne Marie Lee; his granddaughter, Chase Magdeline-Anne Winnen; and his siblings, Constance "Connie" Lee and Robert E Lee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with additional tentative plans to gather on one of Paul's favorite days of the year, Opening Day at Tigers Stadium. Because really, what better way to honor a life lived with heart, humor, and a Detroit soul?
"Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I love you more."
—The Beatles
